BRICS Tax Administrations Launch New Tools for Businesses and Knowledge Exchange
Published: 01.10.2026 13:06

The heads of BRICS tax administrations agreed to launch the BRICS Tax Support Network. The document was signed in New Delhi. A shared knowledge base will provide official information on BRICS countries’ tax systems and taxpayer services, as well as on doing business in those countries. If taxpayers need more detailed guidance, they will be able to send enquiries through the Network to tax authorities in BRICS countries. The Network will become operational on 1 January 2027.

“Tax authorities should not be the only ones to benefit from cooperation. Taxpayers should see tangible results. The BRICS Tax Support Network turns our cooperation into a practical service for businesses,” said Daniil Egorov, Commissioner of the FTS of Russia.

Another practical outcome of the meeting was the launch of the BRICS Tax Cross Learning Lab, a joint educational platform for tax administration staff. Lectures will be available to the public. The first lectures cover client-centricity and HR practices, with plans to broaden the platform to include other areas over time.

“The decisions taken over the next few years will shape the rules of cross-border taxation for a generation,” said Nirmala Sitharaman, India’s Minister of Finance, emphasising the importance of BRICS countries’ views in the development of new global tax rules.

To that end, the BRICS countries established a dedicated forum for regular discussions on international taxation and transfer pricing.

Representatives of the tax administrations of Brazil, Egypt, India, Indonesia, China, Iran, the UAE, Russia, South Africa and Ethiopia took part in the event.
